When a residence permit application is denied, the decision is served, and the time period specified in the notice applies. This guide explains what the grounds for denial mean and what options are available.
The notice must be read first
It should not be assumed that the same number of days applies to every rejection case. The relevant period is the one specified in the rejection notice and the individual’s current legal residency status.
Initiating a new transaction does not automatically pause the response period specified in the notice.
The six-month rule
The Presidency of Migration Management states that a new application for the same purpose of stay cannot be submitted within six months of a rejection.
If your legal right to stay remains in effect, you may be able to apply for a different purpose of residence; in this case, the purpose must be genuine and verifiable.
