The duration of the violation and the individual’s nationality are the two main factors determining the penalty. As the duration increases, both the fine and the entry ban that may be imposed upon departure become more severe.

Payment of the fine alone is not sufficient: the manner of release (voluntary release or arrest), the classification code, and other records in the file are evaluated together.

Payment of the fine does not automatically lift the entry ban. The duration of the violation, the manner of departure, the restriction code, and the decision of the relevant authority are evaluated separately.

The periods of prohibition imposed on foreign nationals who voluntarily leave the country and pay the fine may be longer than those imposed when the fine is not paid for the same violation.

The calculated amount is for informational purposes only. The exact amount due, the payment location, and any consequences of late payment, if applicable, are determined in accordance with the procedures of the authorized unit at the border crossing and the relevant agency.

Whether the debt will be collected at a particular stage and whether late payment charges will apply depends on the nature of the case; this tool does not make that determination.

The timeframes listed in the table represent the general guidelines for foreign nationals who leave the country voluntarily before a violation is detected and who pay their fines. Failure to pay the fine, departure following apprehension, or aggravating circumstances may extend these timeframes.

For this reason, the "I'll pay the fine, and the problem will be solved" approach is misleading: payment is only one part of the process.

Time limits are assessed on a case-by-case basis. If a restriction code has been applied, its effect must be examined separately.
